Chief Financial Officer

The CFO leads B Lab’s Finance portfolio. This means architecting and stewarding B Lab’s network financial model – the integrated architecture by which budget, forecast, capital allocation, investment, and risk management connect across all entities of the global organization. The portfolio encompasses financial strategy and planning, cost structure, capital architecture, treasury, financial risk, internal controls, statutory and regulatory compliance, audit, and the financial business intelligence and reporting infrastructure that enable sound executive and Board decision-making across the network.

The CFO contributes to and influences business model decisions – including pricing, products, programs, philanthropy, and partnerships – through financial analysis, modeling, and risk assessment. By holding a strategic seat at the executive table, the CFO ensures that financial realities and possibilities both inform and are informed by enterprise strategy, and that resource decisions reflect both mission and sustainability.

B Lab is undergoing two simultaneous transformations: the evolution of its standards and assurance model, and the unification of its network into one global organisation. Both depend on financial architecture functioning reliably, transparently, and strategically.

The CFO will lead the consolidation of financial systems across the organizational system, the design of resource allocation principles aligned to strategy, and the evolution of treasury, controls, and reporting infrastructure. This portfolio must deliver both stability through transition and the financial innovation required for B Lab’s future operating model.

The CFO advances B Lab’s Theory of Change by ensuring resources flow effectively toward mission-critical work and that financial discipline reinforces rather than constrains impact. By stewarding capital with both rigor and creativity, the CFO enables B Lab to invest in the standards, products, partnerships, and people that drive economic transformation.
